Olay Total Effects Foaming Cleanser - Review

August 27, 2015

There is one thing common with most Olay products and that is quality. I have mainly used the Total Effects range but still.... I always start with 'not-interested' and end with 'impressed' (read here). Let us find out if this face wash was any different from my opinion about Olay products...

Product Description

Only water, glycerine, and niacinamide sounds familiar to my ears :)

Comes in a typical face wash tube with a flip-open lid that shuts tight and will not break your nails. Travel friendly too.

My Experience

The face wash has a mild, floral fragrance and a cream consistency. Works up into a creamy foam. It feels gentle on skin and removes all the dirt and oil from the face without making my dry skin more dry. No slippery post-wash feel too.

A little is enough for each use. I always use the oil cleansing method with this oil to remove makeup. But for review purposes, I used this face wash and surprisingly, it managed to remove light makeup. Impressive! I am not sure if it will completely remove all makeup. I would not recommend that anyway. But on lazy days, this will be a good friend.

It is easy to use and easy to spread. Lathers easily and makes face look cleaner and brighter. I would have repurchased this but it has chemicals which I try to avoid where possible.

  • Makes skin look cleaner and brighter
  • Gently takes away oil but without drying skin
  • Effectively removes light makeup
  • Lathers easily
  • No slippery post-wash feel
  • Non comedogenic, so no clogged pores

  • Chemical ingredients

Overall Impression

The Olay Total Effects foaming cleanser lives up to all its claims made by the brand. It is an excellent face wash, no doubt. However, it does have chemicals which I personally do not prefer. If you have no such issues, do give it a try. Never thought that I would say this but it is really good.
